The short answer
JunkRabbit prices junk removal two ways: a flat price per item, or a truck-fill tier for piles and cleanouts. A standard sofa is $126, a queen mattress $103, a standard refrigerator $164, a quarter truck $241 and a full truck $732. The order minimum is $100, and there is no stairs fee or same-day surcharge anywhere in the metro.
How the prices work
Each item on the list has one price, and it is the same in Clifton, Covington, West Chester or Lawrenceburg. You pick items online or send a photo, and you see the total before you book. The price only changes if you approve a change, for example if you add items once the crew is there. Carry-out from anywhere in the home is included, which matters in a city of hillside steps, rowhouse stairs and deep basements. Disposal is included too, so there is no separate dump fee. Vetted, insured local haulers do the work. If you have a lot of mixed junk rather than a few large items, the truck tiers are usually the better way to price it, and the quote tool shows both.
Furniture
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Dining Chair | $45 |
| End Table / Side Table | $52 |
| Nightstand | $57 |
| Coffee Table | $67 |
| Bookshelf | $72 |
| Armchair / Accent Chair | $77 |
| Desk (Standard) | $83 |
| Recliner | $98 |
| Dining Table (2-4 Seat) | $103 |
| Futon | $111 |
| Loveseat | $119 |
| Sofa / Couch | $126 |
| Dresser (Standard) | $126 |
| Sectional Sofa (2-Piece) | $141 |
| Sleeper Sofa | $149 |
| Cabinet / China Hutch | $160 |
| Dining Table (6-8 Seat) | $163 |
| Sectional Sofa (3-Piece) | $185 |
| Armoire — Large / Double (Solid Wood) | $197 |
Mattresses and beds
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Bed Frame (Standard / Metal / Platform) | $68 |
| Mattress — Twin | $82 |
| Box Spring (Any Size) | $92 |
| Mattress — Full / Double | $94 |
| Mattress — Queen | $103 |
| Mattress — King / Cal King | $114 |
| Bunk Bed | $123 |
| Bed Frame (Solid/Upholstered/Storage) — Twin / Full / Queen | $126 |
| Mattress + Box Spring Set | $143 |
The set price is always lower than the two items added separately: a queen and box spring would be $103 + $92 = $195 on their own, versus $143 as a set.
Appliances
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Microwave (Countertop) | $30 |
| Window AC Unit (Small, under 8k BTU) | $87 |
| Dishwasher | $109 |
| Mini Fridge | $115 |
| Dryer | $128 |
| Water Heater (Tank) | $131 |
| Washer | $133 |
| Stove / Oven / Range (Electric) | $134 |
| Freezer (Chest) | $146 |
| Refrigerator (Standard) | $164 |
| Refrigerator (Side-by-Side / French Door) | $183 |
In Newport and Rumpke curbside areas, Freon appliances need a technician's sticker before collection. With a pickup, you do not need to arrange that.
Electronics, outdoor and heavy items
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Computer Monitor | $58 |
| TV (Under 42") | $62 |
| TV (42" to 65") | $68 |
| TV (65"+) | $73 |
| Lawn Mower | $65 |
| Snow Blower | $71 |
| Treadmill | $115 |
| Propane Grill | $123 |
| Swing Set | $143 |
| Riding Mower / Lawn Tractor | $152 |
| Upright Piano | $364 |
| Hot Tub / Spa | $390 |
| Pool Table | $603 |
Several of these, including hot tubs, lawnmowers and grand pianos, are excluded from the City of Cincinnati's bulk program, so a paid route is the usual answer.
Truck-fill tiers for piles and cleanouts
| Truck fill | Flat price |
|---|---|
| 1/4 truck (~4 cubic yards) | $241 |
| 3/8 truck (~6 cubic yards) | $338 |
| 1/2 truck (~8 cubic yards) | $431 |
| 5/8 truck (~10 cubic yards) | $513 |
| 3/4 truck (~12 cubic yards) | $587 |
| 7/8 truck (~14 cubic yards) | $661 |
| Full truck (~16 cubic yards) | $732 |
Truck tiers suit basement and garage cleanouts, estates and mixed piles. A Westwood basement might be a half truck at $431; a full house in Anderson Township might be a full truck at $732, or more than one. There are no volume discounts, so two full trucks are $732 + $732 = $1,464.
How to read the list for a Cincinnati job
Start with where the items are, then forget about it, because it does not change the number. A sofa at the top of forty front steps in Price Hill is $126, the same as a sofa in a Florence garage. A washer at the bottom of a steep Westwood basement staircase is $133 either way. What does change the number is the exact item, so pick the closest line. A solid wood dresser from an older Hyde Park or College Hill house is a different line from a standard one: a small solid hardwood dresser is $137 and a large one $182, against $126 for a standard dresser. A cast iron radiator, common in older homes here, is $123. Next, check the set prices. A queen mattress and box spring are $143 as a set, not $103 + $92 = $195. Then compare your list against a truck tier. If your items add up to more than $241 and would fit in about 4 cubic yards, the quarter truck is the better deal, and the quote tool shows that automatically. Finally, think about which items the City of Cincinnati's free appointment would take, such as a couch or a fridge you can get to the curb, and which it will not, such as hot tubs, remodel debris, lawnmowers or anything over 6 feet tall.
Northern Kentucky and Indiana jobs
The list does not change at the river. In Newport and other Rumpke areas, curbside pickup needs a technician's Freon sticker on a fridge and a plastic-wrapped, sealed mattress, so many Kentucky households use a pickup for exactly those items. A Newport fridge and a queen set come to $164 + $143 = $307, with no sticker and no wrapping. A Covington rowhouse rehab with three cast iron radiators and a cast iron tub is $123 + $123 + $123 + $185 = $554. In Lawrenceburg, a dryer and a washer from the basement are $128 + $133 = $261. Same prices, same carry-out, same-day when you book by 4 PM.
Worked totals
A Clifton Heights move-out of a full mattress, a standard desk and a dresser: $94 + $83 + $126 = $303. A Price Hill basement with a washer, a dryer and an old chest freezer: $133 + $128 + $146 = $407. A Hyde Park living room of a sofa, a loveseat and a coffee table: $126 + $119 + $67 = $312. A Covington kitchen with a standard fridge and an electric range: $164 + $134 = $298. Each of these includes carry-out from any floor and disposal. Same-day pickup is available when you book by 4 PM, seven days a week, 8am to midnight. The full catalog is in the online quote tool; you can also start from a photo.
Frequently asked questions
How much does junk removal cost in Cincinnati?
It depends on what you have. A sofa is $126, a queen mattress $103 and a standard fridge $164. Piles use truck tiers: a quarter truck is $241, a half truck $431 and a full truck $732. The order minimum is $100.
Are prices the same in Northern Kentucky?
Yes. The same flat prices apply in Covington, Newport, Florence and the rest of the service area, including southeast Indiana.
Is there a fee for stairs?
No. Crews carry items out from any floor, basements included, with no stairs fee and no same-day surcharge.
Can the price change on the day?
Only if you approve it, for example when you add items. The price you see before booking is what you pay for the items you listed.
Is it cheaper to price items one by one or by the truck?
It depends on the load. A few large items are usually cheaper priced individually, such as a sofa and a loveseat at $126 + $119 = $245. A mixed pile that adds up past $241 and fits in about 4 cubic yards is usually cheaper as a quarter truck. The quote tool shows whichever is lower. There are no volume discounts, so the tiers and item prices are the same for every job.
Do you take items the City's bulk program won't?
Yes. Hot tubs are $390, a push lawn mower $65, a tall solid wood bookcase $123 and a quarter truck of remodel debris $241. Paint is accepted at $30 for a one-gallon can. Other hazardous waste is handled case by case, so ask first.
