Big Jobs Are Priced by the Truck

For a full basement, a garage or a whole house, volume is simpler. The truck holds sixteen cubic yards — $241 buys a quarter of it, $431 half and $732 the lot. Each quote is calculated both ways, item by item and by volume, and the lower total is the one you pay.

How a Cincinnati Pickup Works

1

1. Photograph it

A single chair or a whole storage room — every piece in the picture is matched to the Cincinnati price list.

2

2. Choose a window

Fix anything the photo missed, then pick a time this week instead of waiting on a bulk appointment.

3

3. Carried down and routed

An insured crew brings everything out, then splits the load between donation, recyclers and the landfill.

JunkRabbit Services Around Cincinnati

Each service has its own page with Cincinnati prices, the local pickup rules that apply and common questions:

Built for Cincinnati Houses

An Over-the-Rhine rowhouse, a Price Hill house on a steep lot, a Covington rowhouse and a West Chester subdivision home each call for a different plan. Our crews work all of them.

Hillside Steps

Price Hill’s old incline once climbed 350 feet. The houses up there still have long front steps and steep drives, and the carry down is ours.

Price Hill pickups →

Rowhouse Stairs

Over-the-Rhine’s brick buildings went up between 1865 and the 1880s, and their staircases were never meant for a sectional. We take legs and backs off where needed.

Over-the-Rhine move-outs →

Early-1900s Basements

Westwood, Northside and Norwood are full of houses from the first decades of the twentieth century, with basements to match.

Across the River

Covington, Newport, Fort Thomas and Florence get the same flat prices as Hyde Park. Northern Kentucky has its own page.

The City’s Bulk Appointment vs. Calling a Hauler

The City of Cincinnati picks up bulk items for free, but only by appointment and only what its claw truck can grab from the curb. Worth knowing before you book anyone.

Five Items per Appointment

You schedule online or through 311, set up to five items out the night before, and a claw truck collects them. Up to three small items can also sit beside your carts each week.

Curbside Only

Everything has to be at the curb where the claw can reach it — clear of wires, cars and trees. Nobody comes inside or down the basement stairs.

What It Leaves Behind

Construction debris, lumber, concrete, windows and siding, hot tubs, grand pianos and anything taller than six feet are all excluded, as are paint, propane, batteries and lawnmowers.

What It Does Take

Couches, mattresses, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, water heaters, exercise equipment and doors are all accepted, if you can get them to the curb.

That program covers City of Cincinnati addresses only. Norwood, St. Bernard and the townships run or contract their own service, and Northern Kentucky cities mostly work through Rumpke, with its own sticker and wrapping rules. If it’s five pieces already at the curb and you can wait, the City is the cheaper choice. If it’s inside, up the hill, remodel debris, a hot tub or more than five items, that’s where we come in.

A Typical Week in the Tri-State

University move-outs, two riverbanks and a century of basements keep the calendar full. These are the jobs that come up most.

What We Haul Most

  • Basement and garage cleanouts
  • UC, NKU and Miami University move-outs
  • Rowhouse rehab debris
  • Estate and downsizing work
  • Hot tubs and pianos
  • Relocations near CVG and West Chester
i
The University of Cincinnati alone had 53,682 students in 2025, with only about 6,500 living on campus. The rest rent in Clifton Heights, Corryville and beyond, which makes spring and August the busiest stretches of the year.

Sorted Before Disposal

Usable furniture goes to donation. Refrigerators and freezers get their refrigerant recovered. What can’t be reused goes to a licensed landfill, and Rumpke’s sits right in Colerain Township.

Sorting costs you nothing extra.

Winter on the Hills

Ice on a Mount Adams street or a Price Hill staircase slows everything down. Winter jobs are booked for morning slots, and pickups keep running through the cold months.

Why Cincinnati Picks JunkRabbit

Price From the Photo

You see the number before anyone drives over, so there’s no porch-side estimate that changes once the crew sizes up the pile.

No Five-Item Cap

The claw truck stops at five items. We’ll bring as many trucks as the house needs.

Inside Is Included

Basements, third floors and hillside steps are the reason most people here call a hauler. They’re in the price.

Hot Tubs and Pianos

The City won’t take a hot tub or a grand piano. Both are on our price list.

Insured Crews

Vetted, insured haulers, with a certificate of insurance for any building that asks for one.

Both Sides of the River

From Oxford to Alexandria and Lawrenceburg to Batavia, the price list doesn’t change.

Cincinnati Junk Removal FAQs

How much does junk removal cost in Cincinnati?

It’s priced from your photo. For example: $126 for a sofa, $103 for a queen mattress, $164 for a fridge and $68 for a mid-size TV. Bigger jobs run from $241 for a quarter truck to $732 for a full one, and the minimum is $100.

Why pay when the City picks up bulk items for free?

If it’s five items or fewer, they’re already at the curb and you can wait for an appointment, you may not need us. People call when the pile is bigger, when it’s still in the basement or up the hill, or when it includes things the claw truck won’t take.

Do you take hot tubs and grand pianos?

Yes. A hot tub is $390 and a baby grand $438 — both items the City’s bulk program excludes.

Will you carry things down a hillside staircase?

Yes. Long front steps, steep drives and narrow rowhouse stairs are all part of the flat price.

Do you serve Northern Kentucky and Indiana?

Yes — Covington, Newport, Fort Thomas, Florence, Independence and the rest of Kenton, Campbell and Boone counties, plus Lawrenceburg, Greendale and Aurora in Indiana, at the same prices.

How far north do you go?

Through Butler and Warren counties to Hamilton, Middletown, Mason and Lebanon, and out to Oxford for Miami University move-outs.

Ready to Clear It Out?

Send a photo and see your flat price in seconds — from $100, anywhere from Oxford to Alexandria.

No bulk appointment, no five-item limit, nothing to haul to the curb yourself.
